PROJE ADI : It Is Tıme To Recycle And Be Digital

The project aims at helping students to practice the English language and become aware of the endless possibilities of recycling and the need of a sustainable approach both in the physical and digital environment while interacting with students from other European countries. The project will combine both online and offline work as the partners together with their students will meet online several times in order to present themselves to discuss the activities of the project and their achievements, to learn about to teach eachother different web 2.0. tools; the offline part consists of various activities such as creating an e-guide of the products they will create, working in mixed country teams and preparing presentations of different web 2.0. tools to introduce their project partners.

Objectives:

• Using English for meaningful communication;

•Developing assertiveness and confidence in students' ability to use language;

•Raising awareness of the environmental issues the planet is facing;

•Developing innovative recycling habits to the students involved in the project;

• Development of students' social skills by letting them work in pairs and teams;

•Development of students’ digital skills by using simple ICT tools;

•Enhancing students’ intrinsic motivation by supporting their curiosity

Evaluation and assessment

The guide created by students will be published on the schools’ websites.

The outcome of the project is disseminated within each school. Teachers will post pictures on Twin space.

Expected results:

Following the implementation of the project we expect the improvement of English skills in our students and of their ability to communicate and interact with their peers in other countries, achieving thus a meaningful and authentic information exchange. Regarding the environmental side of the project, we expect students to become aware of the urgent need to step up in order to use the resources of the planet in a sustainable, innovative and creative way and actually take action by recycling different types of materials. We expect them to learn to recycle and reuse materials in a creative way, setting an example for their local communities.

More than this, we expect students to develop awareness of the issues faced by the digital environment which require equal attention and need for action as part of a set of measures necessary for sustainable living.  We also expect them to develop abilities of cooperation and work in groups in order to achieve their goals. Students are expected to learn to use new ICT tools in order to improve their digital skills.

The last but not least expected result is the enhancement of intrinsic motivation concerning environmental problems and communication in a different language.
